Catacomb – an underground tunnel with recesses where bodies were buried
Chintz – a brightly printed and glazed cotton fabric
Conglomeration – a sum total of many heterogeneous things taken together
Desolate – providing no shelter or sustenance
Excursion – a journey taken for pleasure
Garnish – decorate, as with parsley or other ornamental foods
Grotto – a small cave, usually with attractive features
Harlequin – a clown or buffoon
Impassive – having or revealing little emotion or sensibility
Imperceptible – impossible or difficult to sense
Impertinently – in an impudent or impertinent
