Wuthering Heights Characters Analysis
Mr. Green
Mr. Green is Edgar’s very corrupt lawyer. He was supposed to make changes to Edgar’s will to stop Heathcliff from gaining access to Thrushcross Grange. Instead, Mr. Green decides to help Heathcliff out and make it so that he could own the Grange.
Zillah
Zillah is Heathcliff’s servant. She was a servant to him at Wuthering Heights after Catherine had passed away. Zillah was always kind to Lockwood. But she does not assist or like Cathy. This is because Cathy was very proud. Heathcliff’s instructions also went against her will.
Dr. Kenneth
Dr. Kenneth is Hindley’s friend. He is also a well-respected doctor in Gimmerton. He would always be the person to turn to when someone is ill. Whilst not much is said of his character throughout the book, he does come across as rough, but is always honest.
Mr. and Mrs. Linton
Mr. and Mrs. Linton are the parents of Isabella and Edgar. They bring both children up in a very well respected way. They children were taught to always be on their best behavior. Mr. Linton’s job was to be the magistrate of Gimmerton. His son took on the same role during his adult years.
Mr. and Mrs. Earnshaw
Mr. and Mrs. Earnshaw were Hindley and Catherine’s parents. Mr. Earnshaw is the boss of Wuthering Heights. He is a very kind man but is obsessed with Heathcliff. This causes grief within in the family. His wife, on the other hand, does not trust Heathcliff one bit. She did not like him right from the very beginning.
Frances
Frances is Hindley’s wife. She was also Hareton Earnshaw’s mother. Within the book, we see that comes from a humble family and can be rather silly at times.
Mr. Lockwood
Mr. Lockwood rents Thrushcross Grange. He does this to hide from the rest of the world. However, eventually, he decided that the world was better than Thrushcross Grange.
Joseph
Joseph is a servant at Wuthering Heights. He has been a servant there for sixty years. He is a Christian who many see as self-righteous and rigid. He does not come across as kind at all. It would seem he does not like any of the other characters in the book at all.
Linton Heathcliff
Linton is a son of Isabella and Heathcliff. He is a weak little boy. He lived with his mother in the southern areas of England as he grew up. After his mother passes away, he discovers what his father is like. Linton is known to love. He
